The Center will assist companies in creating technological deliverables required to achieve environmental goals of the Port (air and water quality enhancements, alternative energy production) and address other maritime industry challenges in port security and cargo handling efficiencies.

In addition to providing for the physical space needs of companies, the Center will provide business mentoring services. These will include such activities as seminars in finance, marketing, intellectual property protection, personnel management and other business skills. Product development and test facilities are also planned.

Investor groups, such as Angel investors and early-stage venture capitalists, will be provided meeting space and formalized investment review programs to develop a local funding base.
