All interested companies must apply for admission to the PTDC by completing an application and submitting it with a business plan. Companies allowed access to the incubator must be approved by the Admissions Committee. Companies must have a technology applicable to the needs of the ports and maritime industry, sufficient funding identified to address first year facility rent obligations and must be willing to participate in an on-going business mentoring program with milestones established for the growth of the company.

The process for entry into the PTDC begins with an initial needs assessment. The initial needs assessment includes a mutual understanding of the technology, company, services needed or anticipated, and applicability to the program goals. If accepted, a formal application will be sent and an interview scheduled with the Admissions Committee.
